Regulated endocrine-specific protein 18 (RESP18) is localized to and regulated in A-like cells and G-cells in rat stomach

► RESP18 co-localize with ghrelin and gastrin in endocrine cells in rat gastric mucosa. ► Our experiments reveal complex regulation of Resp18 and Ghrl mRNA in gastric mucosa. ► Interventions: acid inhibition, gastrin antagonism, octreotide and fasting-refeeding. ► Increased understanding of RESP18 and its regulation. ► RESP18 probably has a functional role in A-like and G-cells.
