From chronic kidney disease to transplantation: The roles of obestatin

► Transplantation (Tx) is the preferred treatment method of end stage renal disease ► Obesity is one of the most long-term metabolic complications in Tx recipients. ► We examine obestatin (OB) in adults with chronic renal failure and in Tx patients. ► OB is involved in the complex mechanisms of obesity and malnutrition. ► OB levels in Tx patients were lower than in healthy subject and patients with CKD.
