Pre-analytical effects of blood sampling and handling in quantitative immunoassays for rheumatoid arthritis
چکیده انگلیسی
► Plasma vs. serum and serum collection methods were investigated in biomarker assays. ► Autoantibody biomarker assays appear robust to blood type and collection methods. ► Inflammation biomarker ELISAs were affected by sample type and handling methods. ► Serum samples centrifuged prior to cold-chain shipping were optimal for these assays. ► Appropriate sample type and handling methods are important for valid clinical assays.
