Recombinant IgA production: Single step affinity purification using camelid ligands and product characterization

► Anti-HIV-1 antibodies 3D6 and 4B3 were isotype switched from IgG to IgA. ► Recombinant CHO suspension cells stably expressed both IgAs serum-free. ► Different IgA expression qualified them as an interesting purification tool. ► We established and compared two IgA purification protocols. ► VHH ligands purified IgA irrespective of heavy/light chain at high purity and yield.
