► Administration of Ber in acute time had obvious neuroprotective effects. ► Ber regulated I/R-induced early immunoactivation and following immunotolerance. ► Ber improved lymphocytes viability and high apoptotic rate of I/R-mice. ► Ber reversed I/R-induced the shift from Th1 to Th2 cytokine production.
