Antioxidant enzyme activity in pacific whiteleg shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) in response to infection with white spot syndrome virus

► We examined antioxidants and oxidative damage in WSSV-infected Pacific white shrimp. ► Reduced antioxidant enzyme activities were found at 48 h post-infection. ► Oxidative stress occurred via inactivation of antioxidant enzymes in WSSV-infected shrimp.
