The roles of ribosomal protein S3a in ovarian development of Fenneropenaeus merguiensis (De Man)

► RPS3a expression was upregulated during the ovarian development. ► Incubation of 5-HT with ovarian shrimp's explants activated the RPS3a expression. ► The recombinant RPS3a protein stimulated the SOP and TCTP gene expression. ► FITC-RPS3a was imported into the ovarian cells.
