An endoscopic anterolateral sublabial transmaxillary transpterygoid approach between the FR and FO avoids crossing critical neurovascular structures within the cavernous sinus and pterygopalatine fossa and can provide a safe surgical corridor for laterally based lesions in Meckel's cave.
