The local and general therapeutic strategies implemented in cases of trophic disorders of the lower limbs must be guided by the patient's vascular, arterial, venous and/or lymphatic involvement. Medical-surgical treatment must be systematically preceded by a clinical and paraclinical assessment of the vascular system. Atherosclerosis (peripheral arterial disease - PAD) is often insidious and its clinical presentation can be misleading. The discovery of an arterial component contributing to the trophic disorders (PAD diagnosis) requires the measurement of the ankle-brachial pressure index, and, subsequently, toe pressure and transcutaneous oxygen (TcPO2) measurement if the associated pathologies make it necessary.
