Ulcère et syndrome post-thrombotique

Post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS) is the clinical manifestation of persistent venous occlusion after deep venous thrombosis (DVT). PTS is the most chronic complication of DVT. The clinical presentation of PTS is heterogeneous and non specific. Presence of a leg ulcer corresponds to the most severe form of this syndrome, occurring most often after iliac or ilio-cava venous occlusion. The endovascular treatment of PTS aims to dilate venous occlusion, followed by nitinol stents deployment. Published results show that this technique is safe and effective. Anti-thrombotic medical treatment is usually recommended for a minimum of 3 months. Conservative management and local care should be continued as usual.
