Rôles primordiaux des fibroblastes dermiques dans la cicatrisation cutanée

After a cutaneous injury the epidermis is not able to reform a new skin by itself as it is not vascularised: the underlying dermis, a structure which is capable of bringing nutriments essential to the epidermal growth should be vascularised first. Epidermis can be regenerated thanks to the stem and progenitor cells present in the structure. On the opposite dermis will only be repaired, leading to a scar formation. The fibroblasts play a fundamental role in the dermis. When involved in the healing process, they activate and get a myofibroblast phenotype. (Myo) fibroblasts play a major role during the maturation stage which lead to a stabilised scar.
