Activation of commercial Pt/C catalyst toward glucose electro-oxidation by irreversible Bi adsorption

84Glucose electro-oxidation rate on carbon supported Pt nanoparticles can be increased up to 600% by irreversibly adsorbing Bi on Pt. This also improves the poisoning resistance of Pt toward glucose and its oxidation products.
