Dépistage radiologique du cancer bronchique

Screening for lung cancer using thoracic CT scanning is a topical question. Pilot studies in Japan, the United States and France have demnostrated the high sensitivity of CT scanning for identifying pulmonary nodules. By contrast the specificity of the technique is poor requiring either repeat scanning after an interval or further investigations. Randomised studies will reveal if CT screening can have an impact on mortality from lung cancer.
