Utilisation du défibrillateur externe semi-automatique en milieu rural

When emergency squads have an AED, the time to access to defibrillation becomes equivalent for the rural population and the urban population. We found that ventricular fibrillation was significantly more frequent when the AED was used. However, in this limited sample, the use of AED did not provide any improvement in the survival of patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
