Imagerie des anomalies vasculaires des tissus mous : diagnostic et traitement

Although clinical examination is sufficient for the diagnosis of most lesions, imaging is sometimes required for both diagnosis and treatment. Doppler sonography and MRI are reliable methods to characterize lesions as well as to assess extention and rule out differential diagnosis. Angiography remains the gold standard but is usually performed during sclerotherapy or embolization. These interventional radiological procedures bring relief in most cases. They are often considered as the primary treatment modality but can be combined with surgery.The widening of therapeutic possibilities requires multidisciplinary approach to determine the best indication for each patient. The radiologist should play a central role in this team.
