Estimation of growth convergence using a stochastic production frontier approach

In this paper we estimate stochastic world production frontiers econometrically taking country heterogeneity into account. From the estimated frontier we obtain estimates of technical change, technological catch-up (efficiency improvement/convergence), and scale related components of total factor productivity (TFP) growth.
