Gephyromycin, the first bridged angucyclinone, from Streptomyces griseus strain NTK 14

The isolation and structural elucidation of a novel highly oxygenated angucyclinone bearing an unprecedented ether bridge is described. The compound exhibits considerably high glutaminergic activity towards neuronal cells.
