Cp2TiCl2 used as a catalyst for the transesterification between dimethyl carbonate and phenol to diphenyl carbonate

Titanocene dichloride (Cp2TiCl2) was found to be a novel and efficient catalyst for this reaction. Cp2TiCl2 is more stable in air condition than other titanium esters and can enhance the conversion of phenol greatly, and it can reach its maximum catalytic activity at low catalyst amount.
