Improved secretion of Candida antarctica lipase B with its native signal peptide in Pichia pastoris

► Secretion efficiency of alpha and CalB native signal (nsB) sequences were compared. ► A threefold increased CalB secretion was obtained with its own leader peptide. ► Unlike alpha signal peptide, nsB peptide was completely processed and cleaved. ► nsB signal peptide was efficient in secreting non-native proteins: CalA and hGMCSF.
