Targeted engineering and scale up of lycopene overproduction in Escherichia coli

- The generality of targeted strategy was confirmed by directly extends to lycopene overproduction.
- Up to 1.44 g/L was produced in 2.5 L fed-batch fermentation.
- It was successfully up-scaled to 100 L fed-batch fermentation with a production of 1.23 g/L.
