Optimized synthesis of (Z)-3-hexen-1-yl caproate using germinated rapeseed lipase in organic solvent

▶ (Z)-hexen-1-yl caproate is green top note flavor ester. ▶ Ester yield of 90% was obtained using rapeseed lipase acetone powder (50 g/L) in hexane. ▶ Crude acetone powder can be reused at broad range of temperature (5-50 ̊C). ▶ The highest yield of caproic acid was obtained with isoamyl alcohol (93%). ▶ Rapeseed acetone powder is inexpensive alternative form of biocatalyst for OPB.
