Graphitized boron-doped carbon foams: Performance as anodes in lithium-ion batteries

► Because of the catalytic effect of boron, graphite-like foams were prepared. ► The presence of substitutional boron in carbon foams improves their anodic performance. ► The graphitized boron-doped foams provide reversible capacities of 310 mA h g−1.
