A simulation approach for optimal design of RFID sensor tag-based cold chain systems

► We defined an operational model in an RFID sensor tag-based cold chain system (SCCS). ► We developed a SCCS simulation model and a simulator based on DEVS formalism. ► The simulator can be effectively used for evaluating SCCS performances. ► The case study showed our approach was useful to decide an optimal design of a SCCS.
