Œuvres d'art méconnues de Laugerie-Basse (Dordogne). Collection Capitaine Maurice Bourlon - Institut de paléontologie humaine, Paris

During the realization of an inventory and a study of portable art and jewelry collections, kept in the Institut de paléontologie humaine in Paris (France), we have found objects coming from excavations in Laugerie-Basse realized by the Capitaine Maurice Bourlon between 1910 and 1913. This collection includes lithic and bone industry as well as portable art and jewelry. It was published after Bourlon's death in 1916. Henri Breuil was in charge of the study of the engraved pieces of art (on stone, bone and reindeer antlers). Of the 17 objects he drawn and studied in that publication, only six were found so far, including four remarkable objects presented in the following pages.
