Cellulose extraction from orange peel using sulfite digestion reagents

► Cellulose was extracted from orange peel using sulfite process. ► Factorial experimental design and RSM were used to optimize the process parameters. ► Extracted celluloses were characterized from the physicochemical standpoint. ► Cooking under the optimized conditions resulted in high-quality cellulose materials.
