Characterization of Phragmites cummunis rhizosphere bacterial communities and metabolic products during the two stage sequential treatment of post methanated distillery effluent by bacteria and wetland plants

► The study explored bacterial communities and metabolites during treatment of PMDE. ► Treatment of PMDE showed significant reduction in pollution parameters. ► Bacterial communities belong to archaea, firmicutes and α, β and γ-proteobacteria. ► Methanococcus sp., Agrobacterium sp., and Thauera sp., was noted as new sp. ► Methylbenzene, furfuryl alcohol and 4-vinyl-2-methoxyphenol were new metabolites.
