This review summarized the development of the silica nanoparticles for tumor imaging and therapy. With the great biocompatibility, easy synthesis and modification, SiNPs were designed to carry out different functions in the treatment of cancer. The imaging ability can be used for the diagnosis of cancer, and the therapy ability can be used for the treatment of cancer. By combining these two functions, SiNPs are promising for the diagnosis and therapy of cancer in the future.123
