Multimodal meta-analysis of structural and functional brain changes in first episode psychosis and the effects of antipsychotic medication

► Structural and functional brain changes have been reported at psychosis onset. ► We conducted a meta-analysis of multimodal brain changes in first episode psychosis. ► Patients showed conjoint abnormalities in insula and anterior cingulate cortex. ► Abnormalities were influenced by exposure to antipsychotics.
