Pour une approche phénoménologique de la douleur

Pain is defined as a subjective experiment, while, in neurosciences, we study nociception with the methods of biology. We must hold two simultaneous speeches: one of the subject's own body and one of objective body. Phenomenology can help us to describe pain like a foreign body and a passive experiment; pain modifies the patrient's space and time patient and installs a disorder between the self and the body as between the self and the world. A descriptive phenomenology can help to understand the lived painful one and to modify the relation between doctor and patient if there is an authentic empathy. This attitude achieves an inversion of prospect by exceeding the discrepancy between “what is physical” and “what is mental”, it draws aside conceptual confusions between nociception, pain and suffering.
