There are 3 situations in which accelerated schedules are required: a) situations in which the vaccination schedule has been interrupted or has never been started; b) children or adults at immediate or high risk; and c) incorporation of new vaccines in vaccination calendars. The vaccines most commonly used in accelerated schedules are hepatitis B and hepatitis A+B.
