Effects of dietary broccoli fibre and corn oil on serum lipids, faecal bile acid excretion and hepatic gene expression in rats

► Dietary fibre prepared from broccoli (Brassicaoleracea L. var. italica) stems. ► High-corn oil lowers serum cholesterol and triglycerides. ► Broccoli fibre in the presence of high-corn oil enhances faecal bile acid excretion. ► Broccoli fibre and high-corn oil levels induce the expression of hepatic CYP7A1.
