The advancement of landscape-geochemical research in Siberia

The functional role of landscape geochemistry in comprehensive physical geography is highlighted. We provide an account of the historical progression of the Siberian landscape-geochemical school at the V. B. Sochava Institute of Geography SB RAS, with a focus on the contribution of experimental monitoring studies into the material component of geosystems to a better understanding of their dynamics and evolution under natural and anthropogenically disturbed conditions.
