Improving ambient temperature stability of probiotics with stress adaptation and fluidized bed drying

► Probiotic bacteria were stabilized to compare the ambient storage stability. ► Fluidized bed drying proved to be superior compared to freeze drying technique. ► Pre adaptation with osmotic stress and fluidized bed drying yielded best results. ► Fortifying the stabilizing matrix with vitamin E significantly improved the storage stability.
