Phenolic composition and antioxidant capacities of ten Algerian date (Phoenix dactylifera L.) cultivars: A comparative study

► The phenolic profile and the antioxidant capacities of ten date cultivars were determined. ► Ghazi, Arechti and Sebt Mira showed high antioxidant capacities and phenolic contents. ► Four free phenolic acids and five flavonoids were tentatively identified. ► Algerian date cultivars had different levels and patterns of phenolic acids and flavonoids. ► Algerian date cultivars serve as a good source of natural antioxidant compounds.
