Mango peel dietary fibre: Composition and associated bound phenolics

► Mango peel was found to be a rich source of dietary fibre and phenolic compounds. ► The total dietary fibre content in mango peel was in the range of 40.6-72.5%. ► Galactose, glucose and arabinose were the major sugars in dietary fibre fractions. ► The bound phenolic content was in the range of 8.1-29.5 mg/g GAE. ► Gallic, protocatechuic, syringic acids were bound phenolic acids in dietary fibre. ► Kaempferol and quercetin were the major bound flavonoids.
