An analytical model of view factors for radiation heat transfer in planar and tubular solid oxide fuel cells

▶ We present detailed view factor (VF) models of in-house multi-level SOFC modeling in gPROMS. ▶ The differential VF model generally requires small enough size of infinitesimal elements. ▶ Without discontinuous problem, the finite-difference VF model is accurate even for coarse grids. ▶ The detailed radiation model based on the analytical VF model is applied in overall SOFC modeling. ▶ The discrete methods for distributed SOFC modeling (Ref. [10]) are also improved due to this work.
