Halogen-substituted (C-β-d-glucopyranosyl)-hydroquinone regioisomers: Synthesis, enzymatic evaluation and their binding to glycogen phosphorylase

The catalytic site of muscle glycogen phosphorylase b (GPb) has been probed with four (C-β-d-glucopyranosyl)-hydroquinone regioisomers. The best of these inhibitors displays an IC50 value of 39.8 μM.
