An anticoagulant effect and chemical characterization of Lythrum salicaria L. glycoconjugates

► Water extract of Lythrum salicaria is resolved into twelve glycoconjugates according to the negative charge. ► Individual glycoconjugates differ in carbohydrate, protein and phenolic contents. ► Three glycoconjugate fractions possess higher anticoagulant activity as that of the native water extract. ► The anticoagulant activity increases with uronic acids and phenolics contents.
