Preparation and characterization of cellulose gels from corn cobs

- Rheological studies showed all samples were gel-like.
- G′ increased following a power law with exponents of 3.2-3.7.
- G′ and G″ were 10× larger than literature values for microfibrillar cellulose.
- G′ was maximal after 2 homogenizer passes.
