Structures and antiviral activities of polysaccharides from Sargassum trichophyllum

► We isolated three polysaccharides from Sargassum trichophyllum. ► They were found to be a laminaran, an alginate, and a fucoidan. ► Among them, only fucoidan showed antiviral activity against herpes simplex virus type 2.
