Simultaneous separation and selective conversion of hemicellulose in Pubescen in water-cyclohexane solvent

► Hemicellulose in Pubescen was simultaneously separated and selectively converted. ► 86.6% of hemicellulose was converted without significant degradation of cellulose. ► A maximum acetic acid yield of 13% was obtained from the conversion of Pubescen. ► Water-cyclohexane solvent reduced the rate of Pubescen degradation.
