► We used alginate dialdehyde for biological tissue fixation. ► It is another application which has not been reported elsewhere. ► The alginate dialdehyde-fixed tissues had good crosslinking characteristics. ► The alginate dialdehyde-fixed tissues had non-cytotoxicity.
