Crystallization and melting of propylene-ethylene random copolymers. Homogeneous nucleation and β-nucleating agents

► The crystallization rate was increased by the presence of β-nucleating agent. ► βα-recrystallization phenomena were observed during the melting of β-PP-R. ► The α1-α2 transition was observed for polypropylene random copolymer. ► The nucleation mechanisms were studied with Avrami, Ozawa and Mo methods. ► The lower activation energy of β-PP-R indicates the higher crystallization rate.
