Morphology and molten-state rheology of polylactide and polyhydroxyalkanoate blends

► PLA/PHBV blends were prepared by melt mixing across the entire composition range. ► Degradation of PHBV was studied helping to chose adequate processing conditions. ► DSC confirms PLA and PHBV immiscibility. ► Co-continuous and nodular blend morphologies are obtained as a function of composition. ► Blend viscoelastic response demonstrate strong influence of interfaces.
