Etch pits of precipitates in CdZnTe crystals on (1Â 1Â 1) B surface

► Precipitates in the CdZnTe crystals were evaluated by Everson chemical etching method for the first time. ► The morphologies of the etch pits of the Te-rich and Cd-rich precipitates were investigated respectively. ► A new method for the measurement of the areal density of precipitates in CdZnTe crystals was provided.
