A numerical model study of the effect of interface shape on particle pushing

► Interface becomes a concave hemisphere near to a conductive particle. ► Interface becomes a convex bump near to an isolating particle. ► Drag and pushing forces are strongly dependent on the interface shape. ► Critical velocities predicted with the model approached the values measured experimentally.
