Design and expression of a short peptide as an HIV detection probe

- We designed a short fusion peptide (FP-50) for in vivo expression.
- This peptide is a very promising component for detection of gp120 protein.
- The detectable level is about 20-200 times lower than previously published methods.
- It is a novel probe to detect HIV-1 gp120 during early stages of HIV infection.
