Stimulation of Na+ coupled phosphate transporter NaPiIIa by janus kinase JAK2

► Na+ coupled phosphate carrier NaPiIIa (SLC34A1) is upregulated by janus kinase JAK2. ► The effect is mimicked by active JAK2V617F, but not inactive JAK2K882E. ► NaPiIIa activity is decreased by JAK2 inhibitor AG490. ► JAK2V617F increases NaPiIIa protein abundance in the cell membrane. ► JAK2 modifies carrier insertion into rather than carrier retrieval from cell membrane.
