Spinocerebellar ataxia type 35 (SCA35)-associated transglutaminase 6 mutants sensitize cells to apoptosis

► Previously, we identified TGM6 as the causative gene of SCA35. ► Mutations in TG6 affect its transglutaminase activity. ► Mutations in TG6 result in destabilization of TG6 protein. ► Overexpression of TG6 mutants (D327G/L517W) sensitize cells to apoptosis.
