Thymoquinone inhibits growth and augments 5-fluorouracil-induced apoptosis in gastric cancer cells both in vitro and in vivo

► TQ can induced gastric cancer cells apoptosis in vitro and in vivo. ► TQ can decrease bcl-2, increase bax, release cyt-c, active caspase-3 and caspases-9. ► TQ can augments 5-FU-induced apoptosis. ► TQ can increase the chemosensitisation of gastric cancer to 5-FU.
